Happy 23rd/New Blog!

I've been meaning to start blogging for ages. I've tried a few times before, but my life just isn't exciting enough for me come up with super interesting things to post. However, now that Brian and I are married, I feel like having a blog will probably inspire me to think of interesting things to do, and to document them, since I'm terrible terrible at writing in a journal. We'll see about all of that.

We've been married for about three and a half months, and it's been great! I always heard that moving in with your husband was a HUGE adjustment, but I haven't been blindsided by anything yet. We spent most of our time together before, so the biggest difference now is that he doesn't have to go home at night. The summer was so crazy that it feels like we didn't even really spend that much time at our apartment, but I feel like we are finally settled. We've finally managed to attend our own ward a few times, and we even have a calling! More on that in a bit.

My birthday was last weekend! I am not really one for big birthday celebrations, so we had a pretty relaxed day. Brian bought me some fun things, including a sandwich maker/waffle iron/griddle thing that we made lunch with. Unfortunately, it didn't get cleaned out right away, so when I attempted to use it the next morning to make waffles, it was cheesed shut! Solidified melted cheese is much stronger than you might think. It took me like half an hour to get it all off, so we didn't get waffles that morning. (By the way, this was the first time since we got married that I had actually got up and made us breakfast. My poor husband...)

Anyway, after lunch we went shopping for a bit, then to two quarters of the football game and dinner at the Beehive Grill. Brian loves the Beehive Grill, and I am also a fan. We watched the last quarter of the game in the pub (I think Brian's favorite thing about the restaurant is that is has a pub), ate tasty food, and even got a free brownie sundae for my birthday treat. It was a very low-key-but-still-fun birthday night.

Brian and I are teaching a Family History class during Sunday School, which is great! I used to always hope for callings that didn't require me to be there every weekend, but now I'm actually pretty glad that we have an excuse to be in our ward every other week! We were hardly there at all this summer, so I'm looking forward to being around a bit more. I was a little apprehensive of being in a married student ward, but we actually really like it. Our Bishop is great, and we're meeting lots of fun couples that we can hopefully befriend. Also, there is a SWARM of babies, which keeps things interesting.

Well, that's about all I have for now. I'll try to keep you updated with interesting things that we do!
