We haven't done anything super exciting recently, but here are a few high points from this week:
- We bought curtains! So now we're real adults, right? Although technically, it was more out of necessity than a need to make our house feel homey. The blinds downstairs broke, and we spend 90% of our time there and don't want to share our whole lives with the neighbors (and their cats, which they keep on leashes outside).
- There's a creepy huge spider living in front of our house, but we can't reach him to do anything about it. Brian says it's an orb spider, which doesn't make me feel any better about anything. He only shows up at night, so we haven't seen him for a few days. I'm hoping he got drowned out in all the rain this weekend, but I guess we'll see.
- After an exhaustive effort Saturday, our house is officially the cleanest it has been since we moved in. I'm a little afraid of how long it's going to take me to clean when we have a full sized house and/or children to clean up after.
- While organizing the closet, Brian unearthed the notebook we wrote most of our wedding presents down in, so we officially have no excuse for continuing to delay sending thank yous.
- He also found five dead spiders in the closet. Our standard spider procedure is to vacuum them up and forget about it. Unfortunately, I'm now very afraid to empty the vacuum. I sometimes peek at it to make sure there isn't anything crawling around in there, but I haven't worked up to emptying it yet.
- Since I'm posting about all the spiders in our lives... We had to take the bean bag chair upstairs, because for some reason all the huge gross spiders LOVED it. Fortunately, they don't make it up there very often.
- We really don't have THAT many spiders in our house, but once I get talking about it I can't stop!
